Acts 10:17-48 Peter & Cornelius

The “ONE LIFE” movie is the true story of the rescue of 669 children from Prague just before Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia and shortly after. The story is told in the form of flashbacks of Mr Winton who headed up the rescue, taking the children from Prague to London, using 8 trains.

It is a perfect example of why the Allies had to win World War 2 at all costs, as losing would have been far worse for the world, than the cost of winning, whatever the expense. I had better not spoil it by saying too much, but you might want to come prepared with a tissue… The audience left in hushed silence. It may not be available for long, so you will need to check for screenings pretty quickly.

“ONE LIFE” movie is on now at cinemas for a very limited time.

Peter was still wondering what all this meant, when the men sent by Cornelius came and stood at the gate. They had found their way to Simon’s house 18 and were asking if Simon Peter was staying there.

19 While Peter was still thinking about the vision, the Holy Spirit said to him,

21 Peter went down and said to the men,

22 They answered,

23 Peter invited them to spend the night.

The next morning, Peter and some of the Lord’s followers in Joppa left with the men who had come from Cornelius. 24 The next day they arrived in Caesarea where Cornelius was waiting for them. He had also invited his relatives and close friends.

25 When Peter arrived, Cornelius greeted him. Then he knelt at Peter’s feet and started worshiping him. 26 But Peter took hold of him and said,

27 As Peter entered the house, he was still talking with Cornelius. Many people were there, 28 and Peter said to them,

30 Cornelius answered:

Four days ago at about three o’clock in the afternoon I was praying at home. Suddenly a man in bright clothes stood in front of me. 31 He said,

33 I sent for you at once, and you have been good enough to come. All of us are here in the presence of the Lord God, so that we can hear what he has to say.

34  Peter then said:

48 Peter ordered them to be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, and they asked him to stay on for a few days.

  • Today’s Verse…

48 Peter ordered them to be immersed in the name of Jesus Christ, and they asked him to stay on for a few days.

“… He went up on a mountainside by himself to pray.” Matthew 14:23.

Jesus taught His disciples what we call ‘The Lord’s Prayer’; (Luke 11).
