Luke 24:36-49 Jesus appears to His disciples.

³⁶As they were telling their story, Jesus suddenly appeared right there in front of their very eyes, and just said

“Peace be to you”!

³⁷Well, they were so terrified, that they thought they had just seen a ghost. ³⁸So He said,

“What are you so afraid of? Why do you doubt what you are seeing? ³⁹Take a look at my hands and feet. Touch Me! See for yourself. It really is Me! Spirits don’t have flesh and bones as you can see I have.”

⁴⁰Then He showed them His hands and feet. ⁴¹Well, they still couldn’t believe it, so He said to them,

“Do you have any food here?”

⁴²So they gave Him some fish and honey. ⁴³So He ate it right there in front of them. ⁴⁴Then He said,

“I told you this would happen when I was with you; that everything had to happen that was written about Me in the law of Moses and the prophets and the psalms.”

⁴⁵Then He explained everything to them, so they understood the scriptures, ⁴⁶saying,

“This is what was written, that Christ had to suffer but would rise again from the dead on the third day”.

⁴⁷He added that turning away from sin in repentance and the forgiveness that pardoned sin, should be taught in His name, to the whole world, beginning in Jerusalem. ⁴⁸He said,

“You are My witnesses to all of this.⁴⁹My Father sends you His promise. Just stay right here in Jerusalem until He gives you His Power”.

Luke 24:50-53 Jesus returns to His Father.

⁵⁰He took them to Bethany, lifted up His hands and blessed them. ⁵¹While He was blessing them, He was taken up to heaven, ⁵²and they worshipped Him and went back to Jerusalem bubbling over with joy, ⁵³and they were always in the temple praising and blessing God. (And I agree with them!)
